IMPORTANT ADDITONAL INFORMATION

Cara Riders using school horses: plan on being here at least 1 hour prior to your ride. If your school horse is being used by another person, be a team and help each other out.  Try to learn your test. You can even make little letters and set them on your floor and walk through the test.   Dress neat and clean and remember to polish your boots. Remember you can come into the covered arena when the horse in front of you does it’s final salute. You ride on the track until you hear a bell or whistle then you start your test. Say good morning to the judge and tell them your name .We are not using competitor numbers at this show.

After your ride plan to stay and groom, cool off and clean CARA equipment. last show, several parents had not planned on this part of the process. "It is the discipline of our sport!" , to quote a famous rider.

WE do need readers See below for times and students. I have Lauren down to read for all of the kids and that might not work. See if we can pull someone for that job.

Riders/ Coaches: Please come to the warm-up arena from the south side of the barns. Do not ride in front or or to the north of the barn area. We don’t want anyone riding in front of the cowboy porch or behind the judges booth. You will not be riding around the outside of the covered arena. When the horse in front of you does their final salute please enter the arena and ride around INSIDE then the judge will signal you with the bell to begin your test. You just ride then down center line.  No numbers, we will just be using names, so please announce yourself to the judge.

Those of you coming with horse trailers please look for Beto our barn manager. He will direct you where to park. Last show several people ignored him. You MUST park in the designated area.

Parents, Spectators: We do have a bleacher set up at the end of the arena and on the side. If you sit there please do just that SIT. No talking, moving, standing, jumping around. This can scare horses. You can and should clap at the end of each ride.   No Umbrellas please.  If you sit under the cowboy porch please also talk in quiet tones. No one should ride or sit or walk near the judge’s booth.

ALSO:

There will be drinks available for purchase.

Scores will be posted by the office.

Please DO NOT tape/staple/ or attach anything to the walls of the barns.
